My name is Kip Gordon and I live in Coldwater Michigan with my wife Keri. We have 6 Children and currently 11 grandchildren. Keri is the love of my life and the best partner a guy could ask for. She creates beautiful worship flags, streamers and other items for a good friend of ours who owns Glorious Creations in Quincy, Michigan. You can find her beautiful creations and much more at https://gloriouscreations.net/
I grew up in Hillsdale county and my father introduced me to firearms at a very young age. I remember me and my Dad taking his old .22 caliber single action revolver out behind the house and shooting an old crab apple tree that was growing at the edge of our yard. I admit that old tree took thousands of .22 rounds before I could finally say that I was able to bag it. That experience was what sparked a lifelong love affair with firearms and the shooting sports as well as a love for hunting.
Fast forward 50+ years and I am the owner of Coldwater Firearms Training. It’s something I had always longed to do, but until a good friend of mine, (Joseph Glover) asked me if I was interested in becoming an instructor, I had never given it much more than a fleeting thought. Joe is the owner of Destin Concealed Carry in Destin FL. and he is my Training Counselor. You can find him on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/DestinPistolTraining/ Joe has been a blessing to me and my family and if you are in the Destin area please look him up for all your concealed carry training and other firearm training needs. You will not be disappointed.
I was blessed to be able to work in the retail arena of the firearms industry while I was Firearms, Archery, and Hunting, manager at our local Gander Mountain store. There I was able to attend a week full of training and socializing with most all the firearms industry leaders. The training took place in Minnesota and that was a turning point in my love of firearms. From there I continued to shoot, help friends shoot better, and even introduce a few friends and their families to the shooting sports.
I also conduct Church/Business security training seminars that address the who, what, when, where and why of a security incident. Those seminars are not firearms training based, rather the nuts and bolts of what to look for, ideas on how to address an attacker, and what to do and not to do in the aftermath of a security incident.
Firearms safety and general security of home and business are a passion of mine and I look forward to helping you and your families grow in the knowledge, skills and attitude required to enjoy the freedoms and protections offered by our precious Second Amendment.
We are located at 482 Bidwell Road in Coldwater, Michigan.
God Bless
Kip A. Gordon
